I walked through town, and met a few really nice people, and got a few great donations. But before I knew it, I was out in the country, where I like it. The weather was cloudy and gloomy again today. I don't get how people put up with this all the time. I love the sun, and need the sun. This weather makes me appreciate Arizona that much more.
haha, I just looked up and realized that BMW is as big as the tire on the fire engine... wow...
Anyway, it was still a good day. The highlight would have to be when I (unknowingly at the moment) took a wrong turn, and ended up at Kim and Dan's front door. Kim was just getting home from shopping and saw BMW and I. She came over to see what in the world I was doing, and I told her all about BOC and my Walk. I had already noticed and admired all the grape vines on her property so I asked her what she did with all those grapes... She said her brother grows them to make wine, and offered to give me a taste of his Merlot, along with some chocolate, cheese and wheat thins. What a great break in the day. I had been joking with her that this walk has also turned into a really long, wine tasting tour.
So after I said goodbye to Kim, I took off back down the road for another 1/2 mile or so, when I realized I had totally gone the wrong way. Luckily it was only about a mile and I turned around and ran back to the intersection I should have turned down, and then ran another mile to try and make up a little time. Oh well, if I had gone the right way, I would have never met Kim, and tried some good Indiana wine.
Damon came around 5 and picked BMW and I up and offered me dinner back at his house with his wife and daughter. Of course I can never pass up food, so I accepted! We ate pork chops with potatoes and a salad, and I told them all my crazy stores of the road. I had a really good time, and his daughter gave me some much needed music for my Ipod!
They dropped me off and my hotel around 8:30, and I showered and went straight to bed. Very good day. Thanks again to everyone at the station, and to Damon and your family, and Kim and Dan!
