Wow what a day! Soooo many people stopped to talk and give donations, it was great! The day took forever, but was completely worth it.
I woke up in the hotel I was staying in, and went to get some coffee while waiting for Nancy to come get me, when I saw my picture on the front page of the local newspaper! I was pretty excited, and talked to a few people in the building about it and about BMW, since she was sitting in the lobby and took up half the available walking space. I got a lot of thank you's and hugs, and some great donations as well. Pretty great way to start off my day!
It was a very foggy, misty, gloomy day, but I kinda liked it, since I don't really ever get this kind of weather back home in Tucson. It only got up to maybe 62? and was misty all day. But a lot of people stopped, and a really great guy named Phil stopped and invited me out to lunch at a local bistro. So I met him there, and I ate a delicious sandwich and chips. Thanks again Phil, that was so nice!!!
Next I went to Culligan's Water in Worthington because the owner called me and offered some water. I don't really need it today, so I said I would just stop by and say hi. He and his wife were kind enough to write a check for $250 for Beads of Courage!!! Thank you!
Andrea, my host for the next 3 nights, picked me up around 5:30 and took me down into Iowa where she and her family live. She was kind enough to make me an appointment with her friend who's a chiropractor, and I got a wonderful, much needed, adjustment.
She and her husband cooked a dinner fit for a queen! White fish with lemon and capers, garlic mashed potatoes, fresh squash, melon, spinach salad with strawberries and walnuts, shrimp and a fabulous white wine to go with it. OMG, SO GOOD.....
