I had a really good walking day. The morning started off cold but no rain and very, very quite on the highway. I passed by some beautiful mountains and tons of snow which I stopped for a while to play in. Found some deer tracks of course, and what looked like bobcat tracks, it was very tranquil with the snow all over and the creek running between the trees, just beautiful.
It didn't take me long to walk the 20 miles to Squirrel Tree Inn. A nice little motel out in the middle of nowhere. My room was on the second floor, but the owners were more than happy to help me get BMW up there so I could unload everything and let it all dry out. I went downstairs to the restaurant for dinner, and an a amazing breakfast burger with a burger patty, 2 pieces of Canadian bacon, 3 pieces of regular bacon, two fried eggs, and two slices of cheddar cheese with onions, and tomato and a big bowl of homemade clam chowder. I ate it all. It was soooooo good. I stayed up for a bit and they helped me try and find a place to stay for a night in Leavenworth, which was turning out to be more difficult than I thought because it was Memorial Day weekend. The fire station was one suggestion, so I thought that would be a good first stop.
