I called my next host, Zach, to see if he could get anyone down to where I was to pick up BMW and take her to his house so I could walk without her. No luck there. So I called the lady who stopped yesterday and gave me her number. Her husband is a judge here in Spearfish so I figured she must be pretty normal.... She didn't even hesitate to come help me out. She meet me about 20 minutes later, and picked up BMW. Road angel! Gotta love it.
After that, it was much easier, I still HATED the wind, and every time a semi would drive by it would nearly knock me over. Sturgis bike ralley officially starts Monday, but they are out in full force and I am so excited to walk through on Sunday! Stay tuned for that post....
The winds died down after I got out of town, but I was super slow because my feet and back and arms were killing me after having to push BMW all morning. Cheri (woman from the highway) came and picked me around 4:30 and after 21 miles, I was done. She took me into Spearfish and bought me dinner at this amazing little cafe called Bay Leaf. I had a pork chop in a sage sauce and grilled veges and red velvet cake for dessert. Amazing, thank you so much Cheri, without you, I think I might have exploded in a emotional blob today, whatever that means, but I was almost there.
Zach is younger than I am and lives outside of Spearfish with his girlfriend and they have such a cute puppy! They live in a nice little house in a quite neighborhood. I nee
