Woke up this morning and walked over to the restaurant for a quick bite to eat before heading back down the mountain to start my day back in Bean Station. I meet Robert from the EMS station to get back BMW and said goodbye to Krystal, thanks again for everything!
Today was a 17 mile day, and even though the high only got to 33, it felt good because the sun was FINALLY out and there was no wind. I'm still loving this highway with a huge freeway-like shoulder. I got stopped before I got out of town by a woman named Sheila who owns Ben's Place Cafe in Bean Station, which I walked by and it looked like quite the happening place. She offered to bring me back some hot chocolate from her restaurant. When she returned, she had the cutest gift basket made up; with my hot chocolate, a bacon-biscuit sandwich, a cute little stuffed moose, and a small bottle of hand sanitizer with a donation in a fun little tote! So cute!
That was about all the excitement I had while walking. I was starting to worry about where I was going to be staying for the night, and I reached out to a few people and thought I had a place, but hadn't heard anything, so I finally called the Quality Inn in Rogersville, and the manager was kind enough to give me a room for the night! They also called the local paper and got an interview for me.
Before I knew it, the day was gone. busy, busy, busy.
