Well, I thought today was going to be a fairly nice day. I knew it was going to be cold, but the sun was suppose to peak out occasionally, and no rain……..
But no, it sleeted all morning, and the sun never showed its face. Thank goodness I wore my good Mountain Hardware jacket, and the ear muffs my Aunt gave me, anything less I might have froze to death. I had a TV interview first thing this morning, and I was doing alright until my second TV interview in the afternoon. She was freezing, and so was I, and there was terrible road construction for a few hours. A lot of it I couldn’t even walk on the road because there was no where for me to walk. So I had to traverse the red-dirt mud, and not get my shoes swallowed up by it. I couldn’t have completed the day if I had my cart, no way.
It was a long day too since I didn’t go very far yesterday; 24 miles, and 9 hours of cold, yucky weather. I finally got to the hotel around 5:10 and met Nathan and Funk there with my cart. We all went to Buffalo Wild Wings for a quick beer and a snack before Janet came to get me to take me to a little bistro for dinner with some of her friends.
Janet showed up right on time and sat with us until I finished my 5 wings and beer, then we headed over to the bistro. I ate 3 pork medallions and mashed potatoes with spinach and a glass of red wine, and crème burlee for dessert… I was so full, it was awesome. I had a really good time with the ladies, they are hilarious and I’m excited to read the book that Janet got me for Christmas. That’s the plan for tomorrow evening. Thanks for dinner!
