Even though it was a rainy day, it turned out to be awesome! First of all, it was warm, in the 60's so the rain wasn't so bad. The road I was on wasn't too busy and it was beautiful; through the hills and trees and beautiful old homes.
For the entire morning I had only been stopped once because they saw me on TV, but that was it... Until I walked by The Good Times Cafe... I got stopped by a passer-by and was talking to him for a moment when a truck pulled up with a man and two teenage girls. It was raining when they got out, but they were so excited they had seen me in the paper and on the news. We took some photos and they asked me to come back to the cafe for some lunch. So of course since there is food involved I said yes and jumped in their truck and went back to the cafe and there were a bunch of people hanging out... I laughed as I walked in and said "Hi!"
They had me sign a bunch of newspapers and they are planning on laminating one of them and posting it their restaurant!! I also took a picture with the bull dog next door in the little market called "Bully's Market". They feed me a great hamburger and french fries and I sat and talked for awhile. It was such a nice break in the day, thanks everyone!
The rest of the day was pretty short, I had crossed the eastern continental divide and crossed into South Carolina! State 15! Only one more state to go... and only one more walking day until my two week break, which I will NOT be blogging everyday. I will sum it all up maybe one week at a time.
John came and picked me up around 3:30 and we came back to the house where we relaxed the rest of the evening and had a nice salad with chicken for dinner.
