It was an absolutely beautiful day today. The high was in the upper 60's and partly sunny with a slight breeze. The last nice day for awhile, rain is coming! It was only 16 miles, but I was hurting so bad... legs, back and feet. My body is not used to walking with just a backpack on my back. It only weighs about 10-15 lb but considering I only weigh 125 lb, that's nearly 10% of my body weight, so as I'm learning, that's a lot of extra stress on my body.
Busy road traffic today, so not much to say about the walk itself today. I got into the fire station around 3, and was greeted by Darryl, the fire chief of the volunteer fire department. We talked for a while and I showered and waited for the newspaper reporters to come. Darryl told me that the first ever Kentucky Fried Chicken is in Corbin, KY so that's where we were going for dinner. So he, his daughter, and I went down the Sander's Cafe and ate some fried chicken. Darryl's wife said that I was welcome to come stay at her house with her and their family. Which was fantastic since that meant I would have a warm comfy bed to sleep on!
