Today was yet another rather uneventful day. Spent the morning on the freeway and the afternoon on the frontage road. It was a short day, just over 15 miles so I got into the RV park in Reed Point around 2. So nice to have a afternoon to relax. I did meet two cross-country bikers about my age riding from Washington Dc to Santa Barbra. We chatted for a bit and oddly enough, they know a girl who also walked across America by herself, and just finished up last year, and I had literally just read about her the night before on a website that my boyfriend had just sent me.... Small world!
I got some work done, and did a lot of re-packing and getting rid of some stuff I don't need. Then I put on my swim suit, and walked down to Yellowstone River about a 1/2 mile away. I walked another 1/4 of a mile to a swimming hole and stuck my feet in the water and wrote in my journal. The water was so nice and cool and there was almost no one there. If you're driving down the freeway, you would never even know this little oasis is even here. So much of the river is private property, but there is a long access road off of Main St. and I'm sure it's mostly locals who use it.
A woman with a golden retriever came down to the river and her and I got to talking. I told her about my Walk and she said she knows people in the Cheyenne reservation area. She said that on her way home from her trip down there she said was going to try and stop at places she had never stopped before, and Reed Point was one of them. She had driven by this tiny town 100 times and never stopped. She said that she was so glad she did because she found a nice place for her dog to swim, and she was also very happy that she could potentially help me out. She gave me a contact and she took me back to the RV Park. Awesome!!! Hopefully that will work out. Other than that, I ate canned chill for dinner, and went to bed and listened to some more audio books until the sun went down.
