On the morning of the 2nd, I was rudely awaken at 5 AM by a crazy thunderstorm, which lasted for about an hour. When it finally died down, I went back to sleep until 7:30 and called Jeana to tell her I would not be walking and asked if she could come pick me up.
Jeana is also a cross-country walker! She has walked over 4,000 miles across America and in Europe, from Germany through Switzerland to Venice, Italy. She walks for her Granddaughter who has acute myeloid leukemia. And actually is a Beads of Courage member! Her granddaughter was in need of a bone marrow transplant and only 11 million people are registered donors in America, and NONE of them matched her, so they went to Europe, and out of the 7 million people there, there was one man in Germany who was a match, and he saved Jeana's granddaughters life. Jeana walks to create awareness about bone marrow donors, and how easy it is to safe a life. Please check out her website, and register yourself! It's easy and free, and the procedure if you are a match, is little to no pain and you could safe a life!

I packed up around 10 and started to very slowly walk out of town. I got almost 3 miles in when Jeana and Shane caught up to me. We spent the rest of the morning out looking for wild flowers... AWESOME!!! Plant freaks! Just like me! We found an old car I took some pictures of, as well a plethora of flowers. We drove into a ranch where they know the owner, and as we were making our way through, I saw a guy wave from a cabin being finished. Jeana and Shane were shocked by who they saw; Shane's sister and brother in-law who they had not seen in 3 years. So we stopped and talked with them for awhile and they helped get a contact for Reardan.
We got home later that afternoon and unloaded BMW and I showered and we relaxed the rest of the night.
The next day, we ate biscuits and gravy for breakfast and they showed me around their beautiful garden that they have been working on for 3 years now. I'm a plant girl, and I fell in love with what they have done. Rocks, plants and drift wood form around the region. We went into Spokane to pick up a package and Jeana's sister came out and we walked around the Rive Park and went to the old flour mill where we walked around the shops and ate some delicious gelato. For dinner we stopped and ate some pretty good Mexican food and headed home for the night.
