Chihuly glass!
I spent the day with Tom and Jewels touring around Tacoma. We started the day with sweet potato pancakes with pecans and bacon and sausage and eggs... Yum. I finally got the chance to paint BMW so people would stop asking me if I was selling hot dogs or ice cream.
In the afternoon, they took me to see lots of beautiful, beautiful Chihuly glass downtown and introduced me to some wonderful friends of theirs; Crash and Jill. Jill makes fantastic bowls out of hog guts and discarded trash she find in the beach, it's amazing and super cool. I don't know if she has her own site, butI found this great article with some good pictures of her work: Jill Nordfors Clark
We spent a few hours hanging out at Jill and Crash's house, drank a beer and relaxed in the sun. It was a great way to spend the evening. For dinner, Tom and Jewels took me to a Thai place that was delicious and as soon as we got home, I passed out, it was great.
The next morning Tom and Jewels dropped me off at the ferry station and to my surprise, their son Chris stopped by to wish fare well. I will truly miss them all, it felt like home away from home.
I boarded the ferry and took a quick 10 minute ride over to Vashon Island where I had a fairly easy 14 mile walk from one side to the other. Honestly, nothing too exciting to report for this day. Had good weather, and it was short and sweet. Kathy picked me up from the Lincoln Park area and I stayed another night at her house.
