Today was a pretty nice day. I left the station late though, 8:45, when I needed to leave closer to 8. But it was worth it. The guys at the station were helping find places to stay and helping me figure out how to get BMW down to Richmond, thanks Matt!
The first part of the day was really beautiful, actually the whole day was beautiful, but the countryside by Lexington was gorgeous because it was full of huge farms where they breed the Thoroughbred horses. I crossed the Kentucky river and climbed up out of the river valley and had amazing views of the surrounding hills. The temperature was perfect too, got up to 50 with a light breeze.
I got stopped by a Pizza Hut delivery driver who offered me a ride. I told him what I was doing, and he came back a little while later and said he told his boss, who said to stop by and pick up some free pizza when I came into town! That was really nice! I got some pizza roller things that were really good.... Thanks Aaron!
It was a 26 mile day, and I was afraid I wouldn't get into the station in Richmond before dark. Luckily, a man with his two cute kids stopped to talk since he saw me on TV last night. He offered a ride into town, and dropped me off at CVS so I could pick up a few items, and them took me to the station. It worked out perfectly since the sun was just going down.
I ate dinner with the guys and told a few stories. Then we sat down in front of the TV and they watched football while I worked on uploading pics... No calls for the night, so it was nice and quiet. They were were great, fed me a nice dinner and gave me a great donation along with some more Fire house shirts to add to my collection! Thanks guys!
