Today turned out to be a great day! I got to sleep in at Dick and Philis's house and have a lazy morning watching TV and working on the computer. We left around 11:30 for Milwaukee and got to Shelly's house around 1.
We hung out around the house until 2:30 and then Shelly packed up the kiddos and took me to the hospital, where I met Lisa. This was the first hospital visit where I got the chance to meet a bunch of kids. BOC also shipped down a bunch of Courage Tigers to give out, so that was a lot of fun. It was a really nice hospital, and the folks working there were super nice, and friendly and really made an effort to help me see as many kids as possible, which I am really, really greatly for.
While I was there waiting to get picked up, the fire alarm went off.
There was a message over the intercom about something on the 3rd floor and it seems like it took forever for the firemen to get there. They showed up and came inside and were there for two minutes before a call came over the radio asking if they were still there. Apparently there was a car fire in the parking garage at the hospital! So the men ran back outside and jumped in the truck and drove off.
Right then, Shelly came to get me, and we drove right by the fire. Didn't see any flames, and but there was a lot of smoke. Never saw any ambulances, so I am hoping everyone was okay.
So it was a good day all-in-all. Flew by. Tomorrow I will spend time in the city having a look around downtown, and going to the lake!
