I woke up around 8:30 and ate some breakfast and they came around 11. We went to a winery right down the road, and tasted a bunch of yummy wines. The woman who owned it was super nice, and got me an interview the newspaper. She also told me that I would have no problem with walking across the Mississippi, which was a huge relief to me because I thought for sure I was going to have to ask someone to shuttle BMW and I over tomorrow morning. After the winery we went across the bridge and and drove down my route for tomorrow towards Mt. Hope. I was pretty happy to see that highway 18 had a nice bike lane to walk on.
We also went to McGregor and walked around the little shops in town. I bought a beautiful painting of a monarch butterfly on a dried oak leaf, which my Aunt and Uncle are going to send home for me. We ate lunch a cafe next to my hotel and then went to Pike's Peak and got some great views of the Mississippi. Next we went to dinner at a really nice steakhouse and I had pasta with shrimp and scallops. It was so nice to see them again. I have been so fortunate to see a lot of family on this trip so far and I still get to see one more Aunt in Ohio!
