Good day, but cold! It was suppose to rain off-and-on all day, but it just sprinkled here and there. The wind blew all day, and the high only got up to 67. I forgot hard how it is to work my phone when my fingers are so cold!
Today I walked through Sioux Falls, and got quite a few donations! By the time today was said and done, I had $300 in donations! My host for the night, Sandy, kindly took the cash and exchanged it for a check that I could deposit with my phone.
So my day was filled with people stopping and talking to me, including a man who was pretty far ahead of me that had a bad limp, and was smoking. He kept turning around, and I finally caught up to him. I said hello, and he said hi, and we started talking. His friend came down, and we talked for awhile. They looked a little homeless...? But I'm sure they weren't. After listening to the first man talk for a bit, I realized how incredibly intelligent he was; he spoke so fluently, and seemed to have a lot of knowledge, not just some creepy guy hangin' out on the streets. After saying our good-byes, they each handed me dollar for a donation and we parted ways.
That evening, Sandy and Rick came down to Brandon to get me. They took me first to where their sons, nephew, and their son's friend were; down by the pond they own with a cool hang-out room. The guys were on dirt bikes, and they got an ATV out so I could have some fun with it. I had a great time! It went so fast! hehehehe.... I should have been born a red-neck.... Rick showed me all his other toys, and I decided that I will have to come back so I could go camping and fishing with everyone, and ride ATV's all day.
We finally headed to the house, and I showered, and Sandy make a fantastic pizza and we ate and stayed up talking and BSing's till 11 PM:
Stranger 1: " If I walk 3 MPH, how long will it take me to walk 3 miles?"
Stranger 2: " Well, that depends on the shoes...."
Stranger 3: " Are they Nike? It would be cut in half right...... so like 30 minutes."
That was what my night was like. You probably won't get it, but that's okay, it was hilarious, and I had a great time!
