Opps!!! Totally missed my turn 5 miles ago! She was so great, she helped load up BMW and take me back to where I should be. I don’t know how long I would have been walking for before I realized what I had done. Another random act of kindness I had today was by two men in an old bet-up pick-up truck. They were both drinkin’ 16 oz Miller High Lifes and asked me about my Walk. We chatted for a bit and I was telling them that I would probably be camping. They didn’t like that at all since it was so hot out, so they gave me $40 to get a motel room for the night! THEN as I got into town, I saw to cutest bar ever, and went back for dinner. The woman made the best kick-ass sliders I have ever had (Grass-fed beef, with secret homemade sauce, cucumber, and sprouts. Sounds weird, but it was to die for! Then, the man sitting next to me, bough my dinner and drinks, and the husband of the woman running the show, bought my drinks after that. Such a cool place. It’s brand new, but looks like it has been there forever. “The Back 40” is what it’s called, and it’s a throw back to the past. Well worth a stop if you’re ever in the area.
To top off my day, when I got to the Dakota Winds Motel, the owner gave me the room for the cost of what the two men had given me in cash! So awesome! What a crazy, good day it turned out to be! Thank you to everyone who helped me out today. You all are what make America so great, it’s the little things in life that make it worth living.
