"Breathe. Smile." ~written at S21

Hello! My name is Stacie Eichinger and I was born and raised in Tucson, AZ. I love all things outdoors, hiking, camping, whatever gets me outside… I also LOVE to travel and explore this beautiful planet we all share. I have always had a need for adventure and excitement so I am always thinking of something new and different to try. I want to do things that will push me to my limit because I want to live my life to the fullest and never say "what if?"
The story for my Walk across America:
Have you ever had an over whelming desire or passion in your heart to want to do something with your life that is bigger than yourself? To push yourself beyond what you thought you were capable of?
I have traveled all over the world, carrying Beads of Courage Team Beads with me along the way; on the Inca trail, up snow capped volcanoes, and across frozen glaciers, but never in my own country and there was still that little voice in my heart telling me I am meant for bigger things. I could help and inspire so many more people. I just needed a plan… then I realized: I have been helped by SO MANY wonderful individuals along my travels, and I believe now is the time to ‘pay it forward’, and what better way of doing that then to see my own country, at my own pace, and carry a lot more Team Beads as I Walk across America for Beads of Courage- which is an amazing organization that provides innovative, arts-in-medicine supportive care programs for children coping with serious illness, their families and the health care providers who care for them. (see video on my "pictures and videos page")
My Walk across America started May 8th, 2013 in Ocean City, WA and continued for 3,575 miles to Savannah, GA over the course of 267 days (nearly 9 months) where I finished on Tybee Island, February 1st, 2014.
As a member of Team Beads of Courage, I carried Team Beads with me to give hope and honor the Courage of the children and teens who are members of Beads of Courage nationwide. My Team bead was a cute little metal shoe, and with it, a card in which I wrote how many miles I walked with that bead, and what states I walked through. I gave them out to the children I met in the21 Beads of Courage member hospitals I visited along my route.
Thank you for visiting my blog, and following me on my Walk across America for Beads of Courage.
